This article is intended for members enrolled in an individual health insurance plan.
When you enrolled in your 2019 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT) health plan, you started a chain reaction.* We have been hard at work for several months preparing a journey just for you.
First, we’ll send you a welcome email with a personalized video that reviews your plan in detail. This is a great opportunity to take note of your plan name and key financial details like premium payments, copay amounts, your deductible and your out-of-pocket maximum.
Your Member ID Card
Next, you will get your member ID card. It’s good to have it with you at all times, especially when you see a doctor or fill a prescription. Key information on the member ID card includes your policy number, your member ID number, and customer service and pharmacy benefits phone numbers.
Your Welcome Kit
Shortly after you get your member ID card, you’ll receive your welcome kit. If you chose electronic delivery of materials when you completed your application, you will get an email notice that your kit is available to view in Blue Access for MembersSM. If you did not choose electronic delivery, it will come in the mail in a 9- by 13-inch envelope. Be sure to review and save this kit. It contains detailed information about your benefits, several summary documents for easy reference and forms you may need.
*Coverage will start on the plan effective date only if the first monthly payment is received in full before that date.
