The 24/7 Nurseline* may help you identify your medical care options. The service is free, and nurses are available at 877-213-2565 to answer your health questions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Spanish-speaking nurses are also available.
If you decide you need a doctor’s care, Virtual Visits may provide another option for 24/7 care without leaving home. Powered by MDLIVE®,** this service is also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The wait time may be less than 10 minutes. Virtual Visits count as doctor visits, so you may owe a copay for this service.
Virtual Visits board-certified, independently contracted physicians are available whether you’re at home or traveling. MDLIVE doctors can help with a range of issues, such as:
- Sinus infections
- Ear problems
- Child behavior/learning issues
Note that MDLIVE doctors cannot address illnesses or injuries that may require a physical examination or test (for example, sprains, strains, animal bites, X-rays, stitches, back pain, vaccinations and so forth).
Get Started with MDLIVE
If your plan includes Virtual Visits, you will need to register for the service.
To access Virtual Visits through the MDLIVE website, visit members.MDLIVE.com/bcbsmt.**
To register, you’ll need to provide:
- Your first and last name
- Your date of birth
- Your member ID number (you’ll find it on your member ID card)
Once you’re registered and logged in, you can choose a doctor for a video chat.***
You can also access Virtual Visits through Blue Access for MembersSM (BAMSM):
- Log in to BAM.
- Click on the My Coverage tab to make sure you have the Virtual Visits benefit.
- Select the Virtual Visits link in the My Coverage Benefits box.
- Meet with the next available professional or make an appointment for a virtual visit.
To access Virtual Visits on your mobile device, download the MDLIVE app from the App StoreSM or Google PlayTM. Then open the app, choose an MDLIVE doctor and chat with the doctor from your mobile device.
