Convenience is key when looking at your health care spending for the year. “Did I reach my deductible? How much did I spend on prescriptions?” This information and much more is available at your fingertips — without having to call.
If you haven’t done so already, now is the perfect time to check your personal, secure online health plan resource — Blue Access for MembersSM (BAMSM). If you aren’t registered for BAM, it’s easy. Go to bcbsmt.com/member/register to get started today.
Here are the top ways to stay organized using BAM.
Let BAM Be Your Filing Cabinet
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you didn’t have to find a place to file all your paperwork away safely and then sift through piles of it at the end of year? Follow these simple steps to go paperless:
- Log in to BAM.
- Under Quick Links, select “Stop receiving paper statements.”
- Check the box to “Turn off paper statements.”
Statements are kept online for 18 months, and you can view them whenever it’s convenient. If you need a statement from more than 18 months ago, send us a private message through the Message Center in BAM or contact customer service at the number on the back of your member ID card to request a copy.
Create Claims Groups
If you’re looking for a better way to manage your medical claims, the Claims Center tab in BAM may be the way to go.
The Claims Center lets you create personalized claims groups. This gives you the ability to organize claims the way you want to. It can be by a specific event (such as “knee surgery”), a category (like “school physicals”) or by the name of each family member.
You can even search and filter claims from the past 18 months. Filter by:
- Claim type
- Claim status
- Health service provider
